We have been really busy.  Writing new songs, setting up a show to record our new live full length album, setting up our tour down to SXSW.  I am editing a video from the footage we shot for Senhorita to enter in a few contests.  This feed has been idle for a while but all sorts of new posts will be going up.  I and everyone in the band will be dropping in posts and sharing their thoughts, pictures, rants, raves and news here.  Thank you for the support.  Make sure to check out the show schedule and we will see you out at a show.

 We got a new rehearsal space, It is pretty killer, and will suit us well.  The album is flying along, in the final stages, the mastering is in the hands of one of Milwaukees best, The design is being handled by myself and Dave Zimeerman, our drummer.  One hell of a talent.  The album release is gonna be a great show, make sure your there or you are gonna miss out.  The pre-production for our video shoot for the single off of the upcoming release, "Senhorita" is going not as quick as I would like, but I am not a patient mother fucker.  It is going as quick as it can, and is going to be an amazing video and an even better time.  We are gonna have some give aways and contests coming up, so make sure you stop back often and find out the latest.  You guys, the fans, are the best.  Make sure to tell your friends and spread the word about your best unknown.  If we hit 1300 fans by the end of February, my birthday month, You will all get a prize.  More details to come.  Thanks again, John McLaughlin & the Rogues

A note from our Manager, Matt Ott. 
A lot of people know me as a lot of different things. My love for being a coach, working with people, translated well into the film world. I graduate in a few months and cannot wait to see where that takes me. I loved working on "Public Enemies", "New Day" and "No God No Master", all the shorts I helped on and producing "BITCH". I am geared towards film but I have always has a passion for music.
Through the production of "BITCH" I was fortunate enough to be linked to John McLaughlin through Shawn Monaghan and DAMN. His creation of the song "Tonight", soon to have a music video directed by "BITCH" editor Quinn Hester, complimented the film perfectly. I got to witness the birth of "John McLaughlin and The Rogues", "The Rogues" being an homage to the Rogue character in "BITCH".
I have been asked to be the manager of John McLaughlin and the Rogues and I feel comfortable accepting this position because I feel I can balance what needs to be done for my last semester of school and also provide proper support for the band. My responsibilities will consist of helping promote and market the band to new venues and new audiences among other things.
I am really excited about doing this as I have full confidence in John McLaughlin, Sean Dumke (bass), Joe Snyder (guitar), Gretchen Theisen (piano/accordion) and David Zimmerman (drums).

 Tuesday, starting at 9 a.m., We had the main portion of the video shoot for the song "Tonight" which is featured in the indie film "BITCH".  Find the Facebook page and read up on the film, It is a Thorton Bros. Film, Produced by Matt Ott.  John McLaughlin was the music producer and scored the film, including the song 'Tonight".  A lot of the crew and some of the cast came back for our video shoot.  It was a long day but damn well worth it.  I will be posting pictures from the shoot and keep you all up to date with the haps on the video itself.  We still have some pick up shots to film, and then editing, but I will get it to you a.s.a.p.. Quinn Hester, whose bio you can read in the artist section of the site is directing and we started the shoot off in The Village Bazar, a killer shop on Kenilworth and farwell in milwaukee that has been going strong for over 30 years.   Back in the day The Violent Fems filmed a music video there too.  I still gotta try and find it.  The owners were cool kats and friendly as can be.  They opened up there store to us and helped out and were great hosts for our shoot.  We wrapped their by 12:30, moved gear to the studio for the second half of the shoot and broke for lunch.  We got back and wrapped the shoot in the studio around 9, and then went for drinks.  I have to thank Stephanie Wise, a.k.a. the vocalist on Breakin & Bruisin, a.k.a. Watermark photography, a.k.a one of the killer god mamas to my son James Valentine, for showing up at early hours to shoot pics all day, Matt Ott for getting it all together, Quinn Hester for directing, My band for sticking it out all day, especially Joe, Who drove all night from Minneapolis, shot all day, then drove back.  The entire crew, the lighting people, assistants and the whole family of "Bitch".  The Thorton Bros. for writing this killer movie and letting me use their stuff and bringing me in to score it and now this video.  It has been a great year, and 2010 is gonna be even better.  Thank you again to all involved.  I hope you like the pics and check back often for new posts and pics and behind the scenes videos from all of us here at www.JohnMcLaughlinandtheRogues.com

This upcoming year holds a lot for John McLaughlin & the Rogues. It started on New Years with the launch of, www.JohnMcLaughlinandtheRogues.com. The 12th of January we start the shoot for the music video for the song "Tonight" featured in the Matt Ott produced, Thorton Bros. Film "BITCH". I was the Music Suprevisor on this film and it was an amazing experience to work with that cast and crew. The film is still being shown around in Film festivals so keep your eye out for it and the new video for "Tonight" which ties in to the film. There are upcoming tours and shows, behind the scenes footage and interviews from all the band members. This is where I have to thank you, the fans.
